My Dog Ate My Homework

How many times have you used the excuse that my dog has ate my homework? We have all done it. Instead of sitting down and doing the boring homework we have instead turned on the TV and watched The Big Bang Theory, let’s face it, Big Band Theory, Homework, there is no contest.

Teachers have now got wise to the old excuse that my dog ate my homework, nearly as wise as “Ahh, I thought it was in my bag, but it looks like I’ve left it at home by accident!” They have even got wise to “I didn’t do it because I didn’t want to add to my teacher’s heavy workload.” But now it seems, one student who used the excuse got away with it.

Normally a teacher would laugh you out of the classroom if you tried to use the excuse the dog ate your homework. They would tell you that you are barking up the wrong tree if you think you can use that excuse here. But imagine giving the teacher proof that it really happened, well that is what one student did?

Reagan Hardin, a student from Texas was able to use the excuse and get away with it. Her dog swallowed a diorama that she had made out of a barnyard scene. Unfortunately, her pit bull Roscoe ate it and had to have emergency surgery to save her life because the diorama was made out of small pieces of plastic and chicken wire.

Luckily the dog was saved and is doing well, and as for the homework excuse, Reagan was given an X-ray as proof. The teacher who had heard all the excuses before could not believe it when they were handed the X-ray to show that it really happened. The teacher gave Reagan an extension.
